The first issue of the “Ridge Review” newsletter was published in July, 2008. The newsletter was hand-delivered to each unit and mailed to non-resident owners. Response was positive. It continues today under the leadership of volunteer editor, William Kingman.
Our COA was quite poor in those days, and it didn't take long for newsletter mailing costs to become a serious concern. When the COA formed in 2005, the world was well on its way to going digital. The Board decided to hop on that trend in order to communicate with the owners more economically; to make information more accessible; and to promote networking among residents.
That led to the launch of theridgecondominiums.net website in October 2008, with Sue Strosky as its first webmaster. Sue held a series of COA Town Hall meetings to collect owner input for the initial design, and arranged with a company called HOA Sites to host our new website.
The website took on an expanded role when further cost-reductions necessitated the elimination of McCathren’s half-time on-site manager position. Submitting an online Owner Request/Concern then became the best way to handle maintenance and other requests. This continues to be the major avenue for coordinated communications among the owners, board and management.
The website received a major facelift in 2020, championed by then-Board member Danette Driscoll. Today, the website continues as a volunteer-powered resource for the Ridge community. Please submit an Owner Request (link above) if you have suggestions to make the Ridge website more attractive and useful for all owners.
